hey! there's a little puppy!

Nothing has changed since the last time I wrote in this. I'm still moving. I'm still having a great summer otherwise. The apples in my kitchen are still really old, and my mom still hasn't bought any new ones. I think she has convinced herself that they're still edible, and someone is going to nibble on them eventually. It's not going to happen. It's probably safe to say that I'm the primary apple eater in my family, and I won't have anything to do with those rotten monstrosities. I decided they weren't suitable for consumption at least a few weeks ago.

Every time you masturbate, for a split second Stevie Wonder's vision flickers back on. I want to start a telethon called "Masturbate for Stevie Wonder," and the obvious concept will be that everyone masturbates while they watch it and if all is successful Stevie will have his vision back for an entire day.

Sorry, I just felt like I hadn't discussed masturbation in a while. I didn't want anyone to think I was becoming mature or something like that.

McGruff!

I don't really have much that's new to type up for you, but I feel like I don't update that often anymore, so why not?

Time goes by too fast. Pretty much everything reminds me of this all the time, but right now it was because I was looking at the last time I listened to the song that is playing on iTunes was, and it was almost a month ago. I feel like I listen to it all the time, but really I haven't listened to it all the way through for almost 30 days. Maybe that just means I have too much new music to listen to.

I have a set date for leaving, and it's a month from yesterday. So 30 days?ish. Bummer.

It usually takes a few weeks for something like that to sink in on me, so at least it won't be for a while after I leave. Or maybe two days later when I realize that there isn't anyone who is going to call me and ask if I want to wander around my neighborhood aimlessly or do something else fun.

In more upbeat news, No Age is playing tomorrow. I'm glad I've been getting to more shows lately and have more planned for the future. There has also been a lot of ice cream-eating and capture the flag-playing and new shoes-getting and fill-in-drumming and west chester-ing and philadelphia-ing and KurtRusselinaneyepatch-ing since my last update. So it's not like there's anything to be currently bummed about. It's just looming in the near future no matter what, like a trip to the dentist or the next time that the bitchy realtor decides to call us to let us know that we have 5 minutes to get the house clean and leave because someone decided to come look at the house. Except those things repeat themselves, I guess. I just couldn't think of any other funny things to compare it to.

...and we're all going straight to hell!

Last few days: Graduation party #300, Harry and the Potters show that included cult-like behavior by the unlimited enthusiasm expo and running down the street in Philly without a shirt on trying to catch a train, seeing Dumpster Mike's speech at Villanova, milkshakes, and tonight watching Starship Troopers, AKA the greatest and most well-acted movie of all time.

They played "Fade Into You" in the background during one scene in Starship Troopers. I got a little bit excited. Even horrible, shitty movies (awesomely horribly and shitty movies, that is) in the 90's had great soundtracks!

Speaking of music, I will be seeing something similar to this in October:

If I die from figuratively creaming myself too much, all of my possesions will be divided evenly amongst all my friends, and then I want everyone to pee on my ashes, which will then be put in a coffee tin and fired out of a t-shirt gun.

yeahyeahyeah!

Normally I wouldn't describe my dreams for you (I usually don't even have any to describe), but I felt like this one was significant. I had a dream that I was eating donuts from Dunkin Donuts with both of my brothers, and as dream donuts tend to be, they were delicious. Dream donuts are better than real ones, because real ones make me feel a little sick and uncomfortable after I eat them. Kind of like pancakes, which are basically giant, flat donuts.
So anyway, I woke up this morning to find that my mom had brought home donuts from Dunkin Donuts. Not only that, but a drink from Dunkin Donuts that was similar to the one that probably caused my dream (i.e., one that was caffeinated and filled with sugar). She had originally bought it for herself, but didn't realize that there was such absurd amounts of sugar in it. It was like drinking watered-down syrup with a little bit of coffee in it.

In my other dream, The Joker lived a couple houses down and was trying to kill me. This was some kind of recurring dream from when I was 5. You can do the math as to why this makes me uneasy.

Public, unisex, one-person bathrooms are the kind you should probably lock.

Summer playlist (just because):

"Here Should Be My Home" - No Age
"Meanwhile, Rick James..." - Cake
"Sidewalk" - Built To Spill
"Oh Messy Life" - Cap'n Jazz
"I Only Said" - My Bloody Valentine
"La Costa Brava" - Ted Leo & The Pharmacists
"Walcott" - Vampire Weekend
"Nineteen" - Tegan and Sara
"I Feel Like Going Home" - Yo La Tengo

"Machine Gun Funk" - Notorious B.I.G.
"The Passenger" - Iggy Pop
"When Jokers Attack" - The Brian Jonestown Massacre

Some of those are carry-overs from last summer, but that's beside the point.

out on the street, they call him dumpstaaah

OMG, best week evar?

Countless great times with friends, meeting a pretty big handful of awesome people including a 35 year-old teacher/poet, smoking upwards of 250 cigarettes over the course of 5 days, waking up every morning drenched in sweat and crawling out of my tent only to fall asleep on a bench a couple feet away, riding everywhere in the bed of a pickup truck, listening to Broken Social Scene and Tegan and Sara about 1000 times, everyone drunkenly writing in Mimi's journal before going to sleep, having a poetry jam on the beach, singing like pirates with guys from the army, poking fun at a skinny guy all week without him knowing, bonfires on the beach every night, bottles of cheap wine, group hugs that usually turned into carrying systems for when we needed to call it a night, playing Apples To Apples when it rained, eating everything with Nutella, southern guys who seemed nice and cool and looked like Heath Ledger but turned into wild animals and made for a really strange night on the beach, jamming on the tamborine and melodica, 90's Pulse dance parties on the beach that got us a lot of awkward stares, climbing up a light house and thinking I was going to die, having every inch of me and everything I own covered in sand, the awful heat and smell in Joe and I's tent, watching Point Break with Dumpster Mike, devouring huge amounts of pizza every time we went out to eat, having Lil' Mase take pictures of everyone without them knowing, really cold showers, bathrooms that smelled terrible, falling asleep all afternoon on the beach...

Really, I could go on-and-on for a pretty long time. It was great. I'm going to miss it.

well hey

Long time no update. Well, it's only been under two weeks, but it still feels like it's been a long time. A lot has happened since then. While I'm not going to give an unecessarily long recap, I'll break down the important stuff.

First off, I got out of school and as far as I'm concerned never have to step foot in Salesianum or do anything Salesianum-related ever again. Yee-haw. I passed all my finals (even got A's on two of them), and passed everything for the year. Granted, this is only because of a mercy pass from Mr. Wolanski every quarter except for the first one, but I'm not complaining.

I've watched a lot of friends graduate and have attended their grad parties, and can't help but to feel like I'm being robbed of this experience next year because I'm going to be graduating with a group of kids who I can't see myself caring that much about. Sure, I'll probably be friends with some of them, but I don't feel like it will be anything like the friendships I have now.
Luckily, I have the camping trip that's taking place over the course of the next week to be a sort of final good time (even though I'll still have the rest of the summer after that, which will be filled with good times if it continues being like the last few weeks) before I move.

I'll finish this later.

mystical revelations, silent battles over electrical outlets

Okay, so I haven't actually had any mystical revelations lately. I'm waiting patiently. BUT, I have had a silent battle over an electrical outlet. In an effort to be more enviromentally conscious I have been trying to leave things unplugged and flip off light switches when I leave a room (I have the whole driving thing covered too since I can't parallel park or do much of anything else right when I drive, and thus don't). Conserving energy in my house is like playing ping-pong with yourself in terms of difficulty and fruitlessness. My brother is home, so I've been evicted from his room and placed back in mine with my other brother. Normally when I'm not sharing a room, I leave everything unplugged unless I'm using it (iPod dock, fan, lamp, cell phone charger, etc.), but no one else. Joe leaves the TV on ALL THE TIME. He sleeps with it on, he leaves it on when he goes upstairs for dinner, he leaves it one when he leaves to go get something from Wawa, and pretty much all the time otherwise. Anna leaves her iPod on all the time when she leaves her room. I mean... is it really that much of a strain to turn that shit off? Not even to reduce acid rain and carbon emissions and whathaveyou, but just for the sake of being a reasonable person and not leaving things on when you aren't using them.

So, the electrical outlet. Every time I'm leaving the room, I notice that John left his cellphone charger and fan plugged in (neither of which are usually being used), so I unplug them. The next time I come back to the room, they're plugged back in and not being used. And so the cycle begins.
I'm pretty sure he hasn't noticed this happening, because he would have immedeately voiced this to me, and then said something about how I'm stupid for trying to save energy. Because, you know, things that are extensively researched by people who are experts in their respective fields are wrong because you (and mostly everyone else at Sallies, incidentally) think it just sounds like it's wrong and are lazy and don't like Al Gore. Don't get me wrong, those are all GREAT reasons, but if you don't like the idea of trying to prevent something you think is a hoax you could at least consider that you're driving up the electrical bills and being ridiculously excessive in doing so.

The end.
