The statement "WE MADE IT" as applied to high school graduation makes me feel like I just crawled out of the jungle after slashing through dense vegitation with a machete, living in fear of land mines and the lurking presence of enemy troops with these people, rather than having spent some odd years (okay, just one) barely knowing the vast majority of them.
What I'm getting at here is that high school graduation is kind of an unremarkable feat. I don't really know why I'm feeling the need to drop this diatribe now, having been freshly graduated for almost a month now, but the point that I'm getting at here is that in the typical way that I irrationally develop a snot-nosed attitude toward everything that is supposed to be important but seems stupid to me because I fail to see the simpler, well-intentioned points behind them, I felt hardly anything when I walked up to receive my diploma. I wasn't even very nervous, at least as far as I could tell (I did hand the announcer my name card backwards and upside down after I lost it under my seat earlier in the ceremony). I think I just generally feel unaccomplished about high school, and am still feeling like I really did nothing celebration-worthy until maybe my last year, which was more or less just a desperate scramble to bring my GPA up for colleges.
I am on the home stretch of my vacation now, and it's kind of funny that this is the kind of thing I'm thinking about. But anyway. I am on Joe's couch hanging out with Vladmir the dog, who is a pretty good guy, even if he is still a biter and was really bent on getting me to share my Nature Valley bar a few minutes ago. I will probably choke down my last cigarette on the back porch in a moment, since I am alone in someone else's house (well, Mimi is asleep) and don't really know why I felt the need to write a somewhat personal blog entry on Joe's macbook while he's at work.
I'm havin' an early life crisis, yall.

I do not think I will ever be drawn to boating. I love swimming, but even when that is tied into boating, I think of floating about idly for a minute or two before swimming back to the boat before it drifts away. It just doesn't equate to much of a good time for me! As much as I try to fish and enjoy boat rides and things like that, I just can't ever seem to do it.
I haven't even been on a boat recently. I did, however spend time on Deephaven's beach (i.e., its 100-foot patch of sand with a square-shaped dock extending over the water to box in a swimming area), and watched the masses of Minnetonkan's leave the harbor on their boats.
I don't know.
Anywho, Deephaven is a beautiful neighborhood and I kind of wished I lived there. I think I could deal with the overly-dilligent and wholely unneccessary police force and the multitude of super snobby rich folks that I'm fairly sure live there. I think I just want to live somewhere that seems a little more tucked away than my neighborhood (which consists of about 10 houses off to the side of a busy road). I just wish it would fully commit to either being a neighborhood or somewhere in the middle of a large population.
Oh, I graduated. And I will be leaving for PA in about 3 days. This summer looks promising, and that goes for the time that will be spent during it in both states.
